source:worldhighways author: time:2014-04-18

Plans are in hand for a new link to Leeds Bradford International Airport in the UK.WSP and Parsons Brinckerhoff have been appointed by the Department for Transport (DfT) to carry out a study that will examine connectivity options to Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA). A Treasury report, Investing in Britain's Future, has identified LBIA as one of six road congestion hotspots that required further feasibility studies. The study team undertake research to identify and appraise potential interventions that will substantially improve the connectivity of LBIA to surrounding areas. The study will take account of growth plans for the airport and will identify the surface transportation improvements that would be required, including highway, public transport and other modes. Consultation and liaison with local authorities and key stakeholders will run through the study.
