Czech Airlines awarded its best-performing business partners. Yesterday, at a gala evening at the Prague Planetarium, the Sirius prizes were accepted by the representatives of the largest ticket vendors among IATA* agencies, travel agencies outside of IATA, and the charter and cargo business partners of Czech Airlines. Agencies are the most significant sales channel through which Czech Airlines offers its tickets. Presently, agencies sell about 75 percent of all of the tickets sold in the Czech Republic.

Like last year, ASIANA, spol. s.r.o. ranked first among IATA agencies, with the highest revenue from ticket sales on the Czech market in 2008. Among non-IATA agencies, the prize went to the VIZIT EUROPE s.r.o. tour operator. In charter carriage, Czech Airlines rated the Exim Tours tour operator as the best, as it has been Czech Airlines’ most significant partner in charter carriage on a sustained basis. The best cargo vendor was SCHENKER spol. s r.o. The most improved IATA agency of the year was air marine spol. s r.o., achieving the highest percentage increase in ticket sales revenue.

“We greatly value the solid long-term cooperation with sales agencies, which account for about three-quarters of Czech Airlines’ ticket sales in the Czech Republic,” said Czech Airlines Vice-President for Sales Petr ?ehák.

Agencies remain the largest sales channel. In the Czech Republic, Czech Airlines agency sales account for 75 percent of the Czech Airlines tickets sold. Presently, about ten percent of passengers purchase their tickets via the www.czechairlines.com website in the Czech Republic. The remaining sales take place at one of the branches or through the Czech Airlines Contact Centre.
